Cornell Campus Life

“For more than 60 years, Cornell Conference Services has provided operational and strategic support for gatherings of every type and size, from academic meetings to international conferences. Cornell hosts more than 100 events each year, with an annual attendance of 15,000 participants.” – Cornell Conference Services

For the first year, I was a Conference Assistant where I :

  • Organized forms and housing assignments for a conference of 400+ students
  • Coordinated arrangements for 1,200+ children including keys, housekeeping, and dining
  • Provided customer service to diverse groups of visitors to Cornell Campus

For the following year, I was promoted to Conference Manager where I :

  • Manage 25+ student staff and interacted with 5 different branches through transitions of 60+ conferences involving over 15,000 guests
  • Recruit, organize and interview 80+ student candidates for summer positions
  • Developed cohesive training schedule for a staff of 25 Conference Assistants for two consecutive summers

My newly developed training schedule was so effective I was invited to speak at the ACCED-I (The Association of Collegiate Conference & Events Directors – International) where I gave a presentation on how to train student staff.
